Winner of the 1993 European Jazz competition, Joost Lijbaart is an extremely talented drummer but also a highly in demand jazz composer. In 2002 the drummer was voted as the Best Solo Artist in Holland. Sharing the stage with him for his performance at the festival is pianist Wolfert Brederode. The talented pianist is a musician who focuses on the personal and poetic dimensions of jazz and searches for these qualities in his music. Releasing his debut album on ECM in 2007, Brederode continues to give many appearances with his own trio in countries across Europe.
