One of the world’s most recognized orchestras, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, will be at Is Sanat with two subsequent concerts. Since being founded in 1958 by Sir Neville Marriner, the orchestra has recorded more than 500 CD’s. Their debut album was described as being put together with precision, care, consummate musicianship and a sense of style. Having a unique structure that enables them to perform in combinations ranging from a chamber group to a symphony orchestra, the Academy has enthralled audiences around the globe. The orchestra shares the stage with Joshua Bell whose restless curiosity and multifaceted musical interests have taken him in exciting new directions that have earned him the rare title of “classical music superstar.” Also joining is cellist Steven Isserlis who has been decribed by Gramophone as “The music world - and music itself - is infinitely richer for the presence of Steven Isserlis." The conductor for the double Concerto will be Ian Brown, who will be one of the soloists of the Academy’s second concert.
