Salon opens this year’s new season with the creative music of Medeski, Martin, & Wood, and their blended sound of jazz, rock, and fusion.  Comprised of John Medeski on keyboards, Billy Martin on drums and percussion, and Chris Woods on bass, MMW continues to fine-tune their craft with a unique style of rich harmonies and powerful melodies. Since the group’s formation in Brooklyn back in 1991, their distinctive style has been resonating through the various individual personalities of each band member.  Initially working with small, independent recording companies, MMW later signed with big names such as Blue Note and have since produced over 12 albums, among which is the children’s album Let’s Go Everywhere.  Medeski, Martin, & Wood look forward to meeting their Istanbul fans for the first time after a long break.
