The London Schools Symphony Orchestra (LSSO) brings together school age students from across London to study and perform symphonic repertoire under guidance from top professional musicians. Founded in 1951, the LSSO is in its 54th season led by Peter Ash. The Orchestra gives 3 performances a year in Barbican Hall - which is the largest performing arts centre in Europe - and go on international tours on a regular basis.

The LSSO will perform in Istanbul at the historic Aya Irini (Hagia Irene) Museum, which is one of the oldest surviving Christian churches in the city.
