Turkey ranks 3rd in footwear industry suppliers sector in Europe behind Italy and Spain and the 42nd AYSAF fair reflected the latest innovations in the sector.

AYSAF, the only international footwear industry suppliers fair held in Turkey, gathered both the national and international manufacturers together between 21 – 24 October 2009. There were 142 foreign exhibiting companies in the event from various countries. Foreign exhibitors were mainly Italian, Spanish and German. AYSAF hosted a total number of 10.640 trade professionals. Some of the leading Turkish participants were Fatih Okce, Opak Taban, Kopuzlar Deri, Derimsan, Megatek and Elit Makine.

The last edition of AYSAF, where the fashion of 2010 spring – summer trends for components were showcased, also had exhibitors from Australia, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, China, Finland, France, The Netherlands, Iran, Pakistan, Romania, Slovakia, Thailand and Taiwan.

A total number of 248 companies exhibited in this 4-day-event displaying accessories, soles, heels, machines, chemicals and leather.

Trade visitors were mainly from Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, Syria, Azerbaijan, Pakistan Egypt, the Netherlands, the UK, Romania, Iran, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Lebanon.

Besides, trade visitors and sector members from different regions in Turkey such as Konya, Izmir, Gaziantep, Manisa, Bursa, Adana, Ankara, Usak, Trabzon, Samsun and Gerede visited the AYSAF fair.

There were 17 leather manufacturers, 144 components manufacturers, 50 sole manufacturers, 101 machinery manufacturers, 15 chemical manufactures at the fair, showcasing their latest products.
