The 17th International Istanbul Theater Festival, organized by Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV), and sponsored by Aygaz and Opet will be held between May 10 and June 10, 2010.

This year’s festival presents nine theater and dance groups from abroad and nearly 30 plays, dance, performance and special shows from Turkey to be staged for the first time. In addition to 90 stage productions that will take place at 18 different venues, there will be talks and workshops with the attendance of famous guests. International Istanbul Theater Festival Honorary Awards will be present to two distinguished artists: Erol Keskin – for the valuable contributions to Turkish theater as an actor, director and trainer and Tadashi Suzuki – Japanese famous Japanese director, trainer and author.

The following is the list of venues hosting the 17th International Istanbul Theater Festival: The former Bayrampasa Prison, Caddebostan Cultural Center, Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall, Çiplak Ayaklar Dance Studio, Garajistanbul, Haldun Taner Stage, Harbiye Muhsin Ertugrul Stage, Kumbaraci50, Lütfi Kirdar International Congress and Convention Hall, Sabanci University Show Center, Salon, Semaver Kumpanya Çevre Theater, Ses Theater, Sisli Cevahir Stage, Talimhane Theater, Theater Pera, Üsküdar Tekel Stage and Üsküdar Studio Stage.

Tickets for the festival will be on sale on April 3 at  at IKSV building (Sadi Konuralp Caddesi  5, Sishane everyday 10:00-19:00) and through Biletix.  Ticket price range is 10 – 150 TL.
