Alice Ricciardi has delighted critics and audiences alike with her sensitive interpretations of standards and effortless sense of swing. Her warm and compelling voice is in authentic syntony with the most pure tradition of vocal jazz, reminding listeners of the elegance and swing found in jazz legends such as Carmen McRae and Ella Fitzgerald.
Through the alluring suggestions of the great American Songbook repertoire, she brings to light the great classics and other less well-known but equally precious compositions written by the masters of the song such as Gershwin, Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Strayhorn, Styne, Arlen, Berlin, Kern.
Blue Note Record Artist – Award Winning 2nd prize at 2005 International Montreux Jazz Festival Voice Competition – Performer at 2006 IAJE Conference in New York and at Jazz at the Lincoln Center – Dizzy’s Club.
Born in Milan, approached music at seven, attending the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory where she studied violin and piano.
In 1998 she started studying jazz singing with Roberta Gambarini at “Accademia Internazionale della Musica” in Milan.
Collaborations include some of the most renowned Italian and international musicians such as: Fabrizio Bosso, Flavio Boltro, Rosario Giuliani, Nicola Conte, Pietro Lussu, Dario Deidda, Enrico Intra, Franco Cerri, James Cammack , Joseph Lepore, Luca Santaniello, Clovis Nicolas, Marco Panascia, Anthony Pinciotti, Will Terrill, Neal Miner, Jos è James, Magnus Lindgren, Jesper Lundgaard, Morten Lund.
She performed at: Teatro Morlacchi Umbria Jazz, Jazzhus Montmartre Copenhagen, Blue Note Tokyo, Cotton Club Tokyo, Jazz Caf è London, HighLine BallRoom New York, RegattaBar Boston, The Big Chill Festival UK, Blue Note Milano, Auditorium Parco Della Musica Roma, Casa Del Jazz Roma, Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory Milano, Piccolo Teatro Milano, Teatro Romano Verona, Sferisterio Macerata, The Kitano New York.
Debut album "COMES LOVE" released for the prestigious label Blue Note/EMI on February 2008.
