The eleventh edition of The Turkish Real Estate Summit traditionally organized by GYODER
(The Association of Real Estate Investment Companies) since the year 2000 was held together
with ISTANBUL REstate Exhibition at Lurtfi Kirdar Congress and Exhibition Center on May 17
and 18, 2011.
The event organized with the contributions of the Housing Development Administration of
Turkey (TOKI), Capital Markets Board of Turkey (SPK), Urban Land Institute (ULI), National
Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), Turkish Council of Shopping Centers
(AYD) and European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA) was dedicated to the latest
developments and trends in Turkish real estate market. While the real estate companies exhibited
their projects at their booths, numerous sector-related current issues were discussed at the panels
held during the Summit and the Exhibition.
The Turkish Real Estate Summit featured the panel sessions titled Economy Platform, Global
Trends at the Real Estate Sector and Urbanization, Rising Countries in the Post Global Crisis Era,
and Real Estate Market in Turkey From Sociological Perspective. On the other hand, discussions
took place and presentations were given on ‘Residential Investments’, ‘New Project
Developments and Investments in Turkey’, ‘How Can Facility Management Contribute to More
Sustainability In The Real Estate Sector?’, ‘Real Estate Values In The Course of the Crisis – What
Lessons Have Been Learned?’, ‘The Renovation and Revitalization of Cities – How to Combine
the Old with the New?, ‘Investing in Turkey: Shopping Malls, Offices or What?’, ‘Where Are The
Real Estate Markets Headed Post-Crisis?’ and ‘Hotel & Tourism’ during the panels held as a part
of ISTANBUL REstate, which was held for the third time.
