Baba Zula which shifted traditional Turkish music to a diffrent level will be playing in Babylon.While their interpretation of the familiar folk music is unique, Baba Zula also combines acoustic sound and electronic in a harmonic manner. Their performances are full of surprises and eventually becomes a some sort of rituel. Baba Zula’s long awaited album ‘Gecekondu’ clearly reflects their recently increased pyschodelic acts. They worked in this album with such names as Titi Robin, Bugge Wesseltoft, Serra Yilmaz and Dr.Das. Baba Zula will perform at Womex’s showcase this year. They are definitely the favourites of Turkish alternative folk music fans.
